The security features are questionable. Half the time or more, it just lets me get at everything without needing the fingerprint or security code. Fingerprint reader only works sometimes. Just get a normal flash drive and create a 16 character password.
    Over priced, semi-functional.

This device was purchased as a way of securely carting around copies of passport, drivers licence etc when I travel. It works really well and is quite simple to use. Fortunately for me I use PC type computers as well as Macs because it does not work with macs. It also seems to want to work only with IE which is another pain but to be honest I didn’t try it with firefox because the last thing I wanted was not to be able to use it when I most needed it. So it could be worth a higher score to someone who uses a PC and is happy using IE exclusively.

This thing is great! I can leave this out and not worry that people are looking at my files unless they have my finger! It’s really easy to use and 8G is just enough storage.

  4. This flash drive is the best of its era. with the biometric recognition system it makes it impossible for any one except you to get in. Little hard to use if you have a computer that is upright but not impossible. this is a must buy for any of you security types or people like me who just thought it was cool. :)

  5. I had mixed feelings after having bought the “Transcend JetFlash 220 – USB flash drive”. While initially expecting it to be a vital security product I could rely on to store my gobs of password files, vital financial backups, and other personal “necessary evils”, I found it to be less than up to my expectations of security. As any Google search could tell you, this is one of the many types of fingerprint flash-drives which are easily “unlocked” with a publicly free, available tool on the internet. Repeat: this does not have the security expected of a “biometric” device, with little more protection than would deter the casual snooper.
This is not to say the device is useless, however. For mere convenience purposes, it’s extremely useful. While there is still not Firefox support (and I assume Mac OS X and Linux support lack as well), these aren’t major problems in the grand scheme of things.
Overall, take the pros with the cons: don’t expect this to be the major tower of security it claims to be, but for convenience, it’s worth the price.
